Having my best friend come visit did not aid in the productivity, but it was fun.
I also can say that I was one of the two selected to be Assistant Residence Hall Managers next year. This puts me in a new position, but it also means I will be working with Hall Council and the front desk again. I am already excited for next year to begin!
Tuesday night, I faced a mental dilemma that was partially caused by anxiety for an upcoming interview. When the interview came on Wednesday, I was still unsure if I was willing to make the large change that this position will entail. I feel my interview went well, and it was a casual conversation and questions involved were about what I was involved in and how I could manage the position (I did slip up and say teleportation instead of transportation, but I was immediately aware of that and fixed it). The interview reminded me of what I have done and what I can do, which was needed at that moment. I think this position would be an amazing opportunity, and immediately my interview relieved the anxiety.
I am currently in the process of finding that energy I had a few weeks ago where I could do anything. This includes working ahead on homework and applications. It's a work in progress. But today, I finally asked an advisor I've had for years if she would be my mentor for one of my application processes. I am beyond excited for this, and it means I still get to meet with her frequently! There is so much happy!
On a technology side, I have decided it is time to get a new phone. Over the weekend, my phone decided to change my font size on my messages as well as a weird trick of cutting off the beginning of my messages. I've searched, but have no idea how to fix this. Recently my phone calls have been getting messed up and the other person is not able to hear me, but I can hear them. I believe my phone is attempting suicide. And since I have to get a new phone, I will be upgrading. There is the normal excitement of someone (especially a techy) getting a new device, but I am also saddened. It might be hipster to say, but I like my low-tech phone. I don't charge my device nearly as often as other people I know, and I like what I can do with it without even looking at it. I've had this phone for a year and I know all of its workings by heart. Despite its flaws and lack of gadgets, I like it. Now I will move on.
As a techy, I have done a lot of research as to what amount of minutes/data/messaging I use. I used Ting.com because I knew it from Philip DeFranco, and until this date, I know what I pay for a prepaid plan is the most cost effective, so I played around and found out if I was still okay for what I will be paying in the near future. This got me looking at my prepaid history and how many messages I send a month and I found a host of information I had not seen before. This was an information archive and it was glorious! I still will be paying a low amount, but I had a wonderful time finding all of this information! I will reluctantly be joining the Smartphone club, but my first act inside the club will be to install a t9 program.
