This brings forth a lot of questions I have for the lines that have been drawn for society.
Brittany Maynard has made her own choice and now others, including myself, are analyzing her and making judgments of her. Now, I am not talking about suicide based on depression or bullying, and those matters should still be helped.
I do not have cancer and I do not know what Maynard was going through. However, I have been told that I get to choose for myself. Growing up and even now, I have always been told that I make my own choices or that I have to live with the consequences of my own actions. I doubt I am the only one who has heard these.
So where is the line of what you can choose for yourself? Obviously some items do not directly affect only you, and there are legalities that draw conclusions for these. Is it a terminology issue? Even though I believe myself, why does religion dictate what a country does when it is supposed to be a separate entity? Why are we concerned with one another's choices so much?
